Synergistic effect of pH solution and photocorrosion of ZnO particles on the photocatalytic degradation of Rhodamine B

Anh Thi Le et al.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the synergistic effect of solution pH and photocorrosion on the photodegradation of Rhodamine B dye by ZnO particles. It was found that ZnO particles exhibited pH-sensitive behavior, with significant changes in morphology under different pH conditions. Despite a reduction in efficiency in acidic solutions, ZnO particles showed remarkable reusability in alkaline conditions.

Single-Step Production of a TiO2@MoS2 Heterostructure and Its Applications as a Supercapacitor Electrode and Photocatalyst for Reduction of Cr(VI) to Cr(III)

Ajay Lathe et al.

Summary: In this study, a one-step synthesis of a TiO2@MoS2 heterostructure was successfully reported and utilized as a super-capacitor electrode material as well as a photocatalyst for the photoreduction of toxic hexavalent chromium. The TiO2@MoS2 heterostructure showed a specific capacitance of 337 F/g in an aqueous solution and effectively reduced Cr6+ to Cr3+ under direct sunlight irradiation.

Nanostructured TiO2 Sensitized with MoS2 Nanoflowers for Enhanced Photodegradation Efficiency toward Methyl Orange

Sagar Kite et al.

Summary: In this study, TiO2 sensitized by MoS2 heterostructures were prepared and showed improved photocatalytic activity for the degradation of MO. The optimal loading of MoS2 was found to be 5.0 wt %, leading to a 21% increase in MO photodegradation efficiency under UV-vis light compared to pristine TiO2. The enhanced performance was attributed to efficient charge transfer, high surface area, and elevated surface oxygen vacancies.
