Effects of discharge on the velocity distribution and riverbed evolution in a meandering channel

Yunwen Pan et al.

Summary: The study shows that discharge has significant effects on the velocity distribution and riverbed evolution in a meandering river. With increasing discharge, the transverse water surface gradients increase and the transverse underflows strengthen. Sediment deposition is more likely to occur in regions with large curvature and abundant sediment particles. The average flow velocity and turbulent kinetic energy increase with increasing discharge.
