Radiologic evaluation of compensatory lung growth using computed tomography by comparison with histological data from a large animal model

Summary: This study demonstrates that radiologic assessment using CT data can effectively evaluate compensatory lung growth following lung resection in adult patients. The results show good correlation with histologic findings, highlighting the potential clinical value of this method.

Pediatric lung transplantation as standard of care

Raphael Werner et al.

Summary: Pediatric lung transplantation outcomes have improved in recent years, but are still limited by the ongoing lack of donor organs and chronic lung allograft dysfunction. Important issues to address include transplant referral and assessment, extra-corporal life support, donor acceptability criteria, immunosuppression, therapeutic drug monitoring, and options for chronic lung allograft dysfunction such as lung re-transplant.

Predictors of long intensive care need after lung transplantation

Jul Eirik Olsen et al.

Summary: This study aimed to identify predictors of prolonged intensive care unit (ICU) length of stay (LOS) after lung transplantation (LTx) by assessing pre- and perioperative factors. The results showed that small recipient lung volume and high mean pulmonary artery pressure were predictors for prolonged ICU LOS. These findings can be useful for resource planning in lung transplantation, especially during times of limited intensive care resources.

Summary: The occurrence of dnDSAs was significantly lower and later in LDLLT compared to CLT. dnDSA positivity was significantly associated with worse OS and CLAD-free survival after CLT but not after LDLLT.
