The Influence of Snow and Ice Albedo towards Improved Lake Ice Simulations

Alexis L. Robinson et al.

Summary: Lake ice models are crucial for studying the impact of changing climates on ice-covered lakes worldwide. The study focuses on improving the accuracy of the Canadian Lake Ice Model (CLIMo) for both temperate and High Arctic regions by adjusting albedo values based on field measurements. Results show that region-specific albedo measurements can enhance the precision of lake ice simulations, advancing our understanding of how temperate and High Arctic lake ice regimes respond to climate conditions.
