Development of rapid CO2 utilizing microbial ecosystem onto the novel & porous FPUF@nZVI@TAC@ASP hybrid for green coal desulphurization

Summary: In this study, a novel engineered microbial ecosystem was developed for efficient coal bio-desulphurization and rapid utilization of CO2. The system showed high removal rates of CO2, sulphur, iron, and nitrogen species, leading to a highly dense microbial ecosystem. The developed process has significant potential for industrial applications in coal, crude oil, petroleum, flue gas, and natural gas desulphurization, providing an innovative approach for further research in desulphurization and CO2 mitigation.

Fuels produced through electrolysis are not suitable for carbon-intense electricity systems, while waste-based biofuels have low GHG emissions. Battery-electric buses show significant GHG emission reduction compared to diesel buses, but battery-electric trucks have higher emissions in carbon intense electricity systems.
