Comparison the visible photocatalytic activity and kinetic performance of amino acids (non-metal doped) TiO2 for degradation of colored wastewater effluent

Hadis Zangeneh et al.

Summary: By doping different types of amino acids on the TiO2 lattice, three synthesized photocatalysts were successfully prepared for dye removal under visible light. The L-Arginine-TiO2 catalyst showed the highest photocatalytic removal efficiency, with the lowest recombination rate and PL intensity. Optimizing processing variables such as reducing pollutant concentration and pH, and increasing catalyst concentration, irradiation time, and light intensity significantly improved the removal efficiency. The catalyst exhibited good reusability, with 93% and 84% of DR16 and MO removed after four reuse cycles.

g-C3N4 nanosheets functionalized yttrium-doped ZrO2 nanoparticles for efficient photocatalytic Cr(VI) reduction and energy storage applications

C. Venkata Reddy et al.

Summary: In this study, novel g-C3N4 functionalized yttrium-doped ZrO2 hybrid heterostructured (g-YZr) nanoparticles were synthesized for photocatalytic Cr(VI) reduction and electrochemical energy storage applications. The g-YZr nanoparticles exhibited enhanced light absorption capability and superior photocatalytic performance due to their narrow band gap and unique heterostructure. Moreover, they demonstrated excellent structural stability and cyclic stability, as well as superior specific capacitance in energy storage applications.

Synthesis and Spectroscopic Study of Si, Ti, Mg, and Zn Oxides Modified by L-Proline

O. Koryakova et al.

Summary: In this study, individual and mixed oxides of Zn, Mg, Si, and Ti modified with L-proline during sol-gel synthesis were obtained and their IR spectra were analyzed in detail to observe changes in vibrational parameters of silicon-oxygen and metal-oxygen bonds. It was found that removal of L-proline from the surface increased the amount of basic sites on SiO2-TiO2 mixed oxide. Using SiO2-Mg(OH)2* L-proline composite as a catalyst led to an enhanced enantiomeric excess of some asymmetric Biginelli reaction products up to 18%.

Summary: A novel photocatalyst MoS2/ZnWO4 was successfully prepared for efficiently eliminating toxic antibiotics from water bodies, with the optimal MSZW-10 heterostructure displaying superior photocatalytic performance degrading nearly 97.40% of TC within 105 minutes. The enhanced photocatalytic performance of the MoS2/ZnWO4 composite is attributed to improved charge carrier separation, suitable energy level positions, enhanced light absorption ability, and interfacial charge transfer between MoS2 and ZnWO4.
