Involvement of ethylene carbonate on the enhancement H+ carriers in structural and ionic conduction performance on alginate bio-based polymer electrolytes

A. F. Fuzlin et al.

Summary: This study investigates the effects of ethylene carbonate (EC) on the structural and ionic conduction performance of bio-based polymer electrolytes. The researchers successfully prepared electrolytes with improved ionic conduction performance using the solution casting technique, and found that the addition of an appropriate amount of ethylene carbonate can enhance the amorphous phase and thermal stability.

Contribution of Li+ Ions to a Gel Polymer Electrolyte Based on Polymethyl Methacrylate and Polylactic Acid Doped with Lithium Bis(oxalato) Borate

N. M. Khan et al.

Summary: In this study, gel polymer electrolyte systems based on a blend of PMMA and PLA doped with different compositions of LiBOB were prepared. Characterizations showed that Li+ ions facilitated molecular interactions, increased the amorphous phase, and enhanced the ionic conductivity. The contribution of Li+ ions to the enhancement of ionic conductivity was confirmed through transport parameter analysis.

Effects of Ionic Liquid, 1-Ethyl-3-methylimidazolium Chloride ([EMIM]Cl), on the Material and Electrical Characteristics of Asphaltene Thin Films

Sundarajoo Thulasiraman et al.

Summary: This study reports on the extraction technique of asphaltene from crude oil tank bottom sludge, and evaluates the thin-film characteristics of asphaltene when introduced with an ionic liquid as a dopant. The results show that the thin films have suitable surface roughness and electrical properties for organic electronic applications.

Electrical Properties of Lithium-Ion Conducting Poly (Vinylidene Fluoride-Co-Hexafluoropropylene) (PVDF-HFP)/Polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) Solid Polymer Electrolyte

K. Karpagavel et al.

Summary: The use of lithium bromide ionic salt dispersed with PVDF-HFP/PVP blend polymers has been studied for solid-state lithium batteries, with higher conducting samples following the Arrhenius relationship and ion transport mechanisms coinciding with the correlated barrier height (CBH) model. Conductivity based on dielectric constant obeys modified Arrhenius behavior and ionic diffusion is verified through tunneling mechanism.

Review-Progress in Electrolytes for Rechargeable Aluminium Batteries

Oi Man Leung et al.

Summary: The demand for safe, sustainable, and high-energy storage devices has led to extensive research into post-lithium battery technologies. Rechargeable aluminum batteries show promise due to their high theoretical volumetric capacity and abundance on Earth, but their practical application is hindered by current electrolyte limitations. This review highlights considerations for optimizing electrolyte design in aluminum battery systems, focusing on non-aqueous systems and discussing challenges and opportunities in liquid and quasi-solid polymer electrolytes.
