In this paper, a 2D simulation model of stacked high-temperature superconducting tapes was established, and the effects of different stacking conditions on AC loss characteristics were investigated. It was found that the magnetization loss of stacked tapes is positively related to the number of stacked layers and the spacing between tapes, while the transport loss decreases with the increase of the number of stacked layers.
Stacked high-temperature superconducting tapes are widely used in high-power equipment due to their high load flow, and have thus been the research hotspot of superconducting technology. However, the internal AC loss will directly affect the operation of the equipment, and the impact of different stacked layers and intervals on the AC loss of stacked HTS tapes remains to be further clarified. In this paper, a 2D simulation model of stacked high-temperature superconducting tapes has been built based on H-formulation, and the variation law of AC loss characteristics is explored by changing the stacking conditions, such as the number of layers and spacing. The results show that the magnetization loss of stacked tapes is positively related to the number of stacked layers and the spacing between tapes, while the transport loss decreases with the increase of the number of stacked layers. The research content of this paper has a certain reference value for subsequent experimental research on stacked HTS tapes.
