Lithium molybdate composited with carbon nanofibers as a high-capacity and stable anode material for lithium-ion batteries

Jiaqi Wang et al.

Summary: Transition metal molybdates have been studied as anode materials for high-performance lithium-ion batteries due to their high theoretical capacity and low cost. However, their electrochemical performance is hindered by poor conductivity and large volume changes. In this study, carbon nanofiber composite lithium molybdate was used as an anode material and exhibited superior capacity and stability, attributed to reversible lithium-ion intercalation.

Recent advances and perspectives of microsized alloying-type porous anode materials in high- performance Li- and Na-ion batteries

Gaojie Li et al.

Summary: Alloying materials, such as Si, Ge, Sn, Sb, show promise as anode materials for next-generation LIBs and SIBs. However, their volume change during alloying and dealloying leads to pulverization and poor cycling stability. Porous microscale alloy materials can alleviate this issue and improve the cycling stability by accommodating the volume expansion.
