Thin, flexible sulfide-based electrolyte film and its interface engineering for high performance solid-state lithium metal batteries

Summary: A thin sulfide-based electrolyte film with high ionic conductivity, wide electrochemical window, heat-resistance, and mechanical strength has been prepared. Interface engineering on the anode interface has greatly enhanced compatibility, leading to outstanding long-term cyclic stability of Li symmetric battery. The application of such thin electrolyte and interface engineering in SSLMBs shows high safety and durability.

Summary: In this study, a nonnucleophilic organic base, ethoxy(pentafluoro) cyclotriphosphazene (PFN), was used as an additive to enhance the chemical stability and safety of carbonate-based electrolytes. The addition of 3 wt% PFN made the FEC-containing electrolyte self-extinguishing and significantly improved the stability of high-voltage Li||NCM811 batteries. Furthermore, PFN also improved the safety and processability of the battery.

A facile path from fast synthesis of Li-argyrodite conductor to dry forming ultrathin electrolyte membrane for high-energy-density all-solid-state lithium batteries

Summary: A rapid synthesis method using mechanical alloying and rapid thermal processing is employed to produce a crystalline Argyrodite-type conductor Li5.3PS4.3ClBr0.7 (LPSClBr) with superior ionic conductivity for all-solid-state lithium batteries (ASSLBs). An ultrathin LPSClBr sulfide electrolyte membrane with high ionic conductivity is fabricated using a polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) binder and reinforced cellulose mesh. The modified ASSLBs show high cell-level energy density and excellent cyclic stability, demonstrating the potential of the sulfide electrolyte membrane for ASSLBs application.

Preparation and performances of poly (ethylene oxide)-Li6PS5Cl composite polymer electrolyte for all-solid-state lithium batteries
