A predator-prey system with generalized Holling type IV functional response and Allee effects in prey

Alessandro Arsie et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the interaction between Holling type IV functional response and both strong and weak Allee effects, revealing complex dynamics and high codimension bifurcations in the model studied. The discovery of three limit cycles in predator-prey models with multiplicative Allee effects is particularly noteworthy, along with the analysis of nilpotent cusp singularity of order 3 and degenerate Hopf bifurcation of codimension 3. This work extends existing results on predator-prey systems with Allee effects, providing biological interpretations of predator-prey interactions through bifurcation analysis and diagrams.

Linking bifurcation analysis of Holling-Tanner model with generalist predator to a changing environment

Chuang Xiang et al.

Summary: In this paper, the Holling-Tanner model is rigorously analyzed, and the transient dynamics under changing environments are discussed. The results show that generalist predators can cause richer dynamics and bifurcations, as well as the extinction of prey. The populations track unstable states or oscillations when the system crosses a bifurcation point, predicting regime shifts under environmental changes.

Consequences of refuge and diffusion in a spatiotemporal predator-prey model

Renji Han et al.

Summary: In this study, a predator-prey interacting model with prey refuge in proportion to both the species and Beddington-DeAngelis functional response is proposed and examined. The coefficient of refuge plays a significant role in modifying the system dynamics and mediating the population permanence, stability of coexisting equilibrium, and Turing instability parameter space. Numerical simulations show complex dynamics including prey refugia, self-diffusion controlling spatiotemporal pattern growth, and various spatial patterns like spots, stripes, mixtures, and rings.
