Oral hygiene status and factors related to oral health in hospitalized patients with schizophrenia

Summary: This study aimed to explore the oral hygiene status and factors related to poor oral hygiene among patients with schizophrenia. It found that patients with schizophrenia tended to have poor oral hygiene, and factors such as low activities of daily living, being male, and low self-oral hygiene ability were associated with poor oral hygiene. Additionally, advanced age was found to be a risk factor for dental caries.
