Improving the properties of botanical concrete based on waste concrete, wood, and kraft lignin powder

Ren Wei et al.

Summary: Botanical concrete is a sustainable material that can recycle concrete and wood waste without cement. This study aims to improve its water resistance by changing forming conditions and adding hydrophobic kraft lignin. Experimental results show that adding up to 20% kraft lignin can significantly enhance the performance of botanical concrete.

Experimental investigation on bending strength of compacted plastic-concrete

Ren Wei et al.

Summary: This study proposes a novel method for recycling demolished concrete and plastic waste by compacting concrete and plastic powders, producing a stabilized construction material known as compacted plastic-concrete (CPC) with better mechanical strength than traditional concrete. Experimental results confirm the feasibility and promising aspects of CPC, showing superior bending strength and water absorption ability.
