Effect of silica fume and nano-silica on hydration behavior and mechanism of high sulfate resistance Portland cement

Xiaoling Wang et al.

Summary: This study found that silica fume deepened the secondary hydration reaction of high sulfate resistance Portland cement, while nano-silica shortened the hydration acceleration period, significantly increasing early chemical shrinkage and compressive strength. The synergistic effect of SF and NS can significantly promote the later hydration process.

Fresh and rheological characteristics of fiber reinforced concrete-A review

Wenzhen Wang et al.

Summary: Fiber reinforced concrete (FRC) is widely used for its excellent mechanical performance, but the inclusion of fibers significantly impacts its fresh properties. This paper discusses in detail the workability and rheological properties of FRC, as well as the measurement techniques for fiber orientation and distribution. A literature review reveals the relationship between workability, rheological properties, and mechanical performance of FRC.

Mechanical properties of low-carbon ultrahigh-performance concrete with ceramic tile waste powder

Kaicheng Xu et al.

Summary: In this study, ceramic tile waste powder was used to prepare whole-life low-carbon ultrahigh-performance concrete, which showed excellent mechanical properties with compressive and flexural strength exceeding 120 MPa and 14 MPa, respectively. The modification mechanism mainly included pozzolanic effect, nucleation effect, and filling effect, improving the hydration degree of cement and reducing the porosity of concrete. The addition of CTWP also resulted in reduced environmental impacts and costs, making it a promising option for low-carbon concrete.
