Accurate determination of solvation free energies of neutral organic compounds from first principles

Leonid Pereyaslavets et al.

Summary: The main goal of molecular simulation is to accurately predict experimental observables of molecular systems, as well as to devise models for arbitrary neutral organic molecules. Researchers have successfully computed the solvation free energies of a diverse set of organic compounds using a polarizable force field fitted entirely to ab initio calculations, achieving high predictive accuracy.

Assessment of SAPT and Supermolecular EDA Approaches for the Development of Separable and Polarizable Force Fields

Sehr Naseem-Khan et al.

Summary: This study evaluates several variants of SAPT and supermolecular EDA methods, testing them on a series of challenging water complexes. By developing a new energy decomposition strategy, the results indicate that SAPT(DFT)/noS(2) and omega B97X-D parallel to ALMO are the most accurate and reliable techniques.

OPLS4: Improving Force Field Accuracy on Challenging Regimes of Chemical Space

Chao Lu et al.

Summary: The development and validation of the OPLS4 force field, which builds upon previous work with OPLS3e, improved model accuracy on challenging regimes of drug-like chemical space. A novel parametrization strategy for charged species was introduced, leading to improved accuracy on benchmarks assessing small-molecule solvation and protein-ligand binding.
