Production of Lignocellulolytic Enzymes and Biomass of Trametes versicolor from Agro-Industrial Residues in a Novel Fixed-Bed Bioreactor with Natural Convection and Forced Aeration at Pilot Scale

Sandra Montoya et al.

Summary: Solid-state fermentation with Trametes versicolor in a fixed-bed bioreactor was studied with different aeration regimes. Results showed that low level of forced aeration favored laccase production and lignin degradation, highlighting the importance of aeration regime in enzyme production.

Characterization of a Yellow Laccase from Botrytis cinerea 241

Ingrida Radveikiene et al.

Summary: Laccases typically have four copper atoms forming three different copper centers, with the T1 copper responsible for the blue color and characteristic absorbance. A newly identified yellow laccase Bcl1 from Botrytis cinerea shows distinctive properties and potential industrial applications.
