The role of the serum exosomal and endometrial microRNAs in recurrent implantation failure

Fatemeh Azhari et al.

Summary: This study analyzed the expression levels of microRNAs in endometrial samples from recurrent implantation failure patients and healthy controls, and found that certain microRNAs may be involved in the development of RIF. These microRNAs could potentially serve as biomarkers for early diagnosis of RIF patients.

MicroRNAs in the Regulation of Endometrial Receptivity for Embryo Implantation

Manizha Shekibi et al.

Summary: The development of endometrial receptivity is crucial for successful embryo implantation and pregnancy initiation. Recent studies have focused on the role of microRNAs (miRNAs) in the regulation of endometrial receptivity. This review provides an up-to-date knowledge of the miRNAs identified in humans and mice that may play a functional role in the establishment of receptivity. The findings suggest that miRNAs could be potential biomarkers and therapeutic targets for improving endometrial receptivity in human fertility treatment.

Altered microRNA Profiles of Extracellular Vesicles Secreted by Endometrial Cells from Women with Recurrent Implantation Failure

Chang Liu et al.

Summary: This study compared the miRNA expression profiles of endometrial EVs from RIF patients and fertile women. It found 11 miRNAs that were differently expressed in RIF-EVs, with four of them validated through qRT-PCR. The most significantly different miRNA, 6131, was shown to inhibit the growth and invasion of embryo cells. The findings suggest that altered miRNAs in RIF-EVs may be involved in the pathogenesis of RIF.

Endometrial cell-derived small extracellular vesicle miR-100-5p promotes functions of trophoblast during embryo implantation

Qiang Tan et al.

Summary: The communication between maternal uterus and blastocyst is crucial for successful embryo implantation. Research shows that endometrial epithelial cells secrete sEVs containing miR-100-5p during early pregnancy, which activate trophoblast migration and invasion, ultimately enhancing the ability for implantation. Furthermore, the sEV miR-100-5p also promotes angiogenesis during the implantation process.

hsa_circ_001946 elevates HOXA10 expression and promotes the development of endometrial receptivity via sponging miR-135b

Fang Zhao et al.

Summary: The study revealed that hsa_circ_001946 promotes the expression of HOXA10 by sponging miR-135b in T-HESCs, thus enhancing endometrial receptivity. Overexpression of hsa_circ_001946 restored cell proliferation and cell cycle disrupted by miR-135b overexpression in T-HESCs.

A novel platform for discovery of differentially expressed microRNAs in patients with repeated implantation failure

Ching Hung Chen et al.

Summary: The study identified predictor microRNAs in patients with repeated implantation failure (RIF) by analyzing miRNA profiles from the endometrium of patients undergoing in vitro fertilization (IVF). A signature set of miRNAs associated with the risk of RIF was identified, and a 3-miRNA signature was able to predict patients with RIF with an accuracy >90% in the validation cohort. The findings suggest that specific endometrial miRNAs can be used as diagnostic biomarkers to predict RIF and potentially increase the success rate of implantation practice.

Binding of microRNA-135a (miR-135a) to homeobox protein A10 (HOXA10) mRNA in a high-progesterone environment modulates the embryonic implantation factors beta3-integrin (ITGβ3) and empty spiracles homeobox-2 (EMX2)

Xi Luo et al.

Summary: This study revealed that high progesterone levels inhibit HOXA10 expression by promoting miR-135a, thereby affecting endometrial receptivity. This regulatory mechanism alters the expression of related genes, potentially leading to decreased implantation rates.

Nucleolar small molecule RNA SNORA75 promotes endometrial receptivity by regulating the function of miR-146a-3p and ZNF23

Peng Wei et al.

Summary: Endometrial receptivity allows the embryo to attach, invade, and develop, leading to the continuation of a new individual and species. Small nucleolar RNAs (SnoRNAs), including C/D box and H/ACA box snoRNAs, have been implicated in tumorigenesis. This study found that SNORA75, overexpressed in secretory endometrium, promotes endometrial cell proliferation, migration, and invasion by interacting with miR-146a-3p and regulating ZNF23 expression.

circFAM120A participates in repeated implantation failure by regulating decidualization via the miR-29/ABHD5 axis

Tingting Zhou et al.

Summary: The study found that the circular RNA circFAM120A is significantly down-regulated in the endometrium of patients with repeated implantation failure, leading to inhibition of decidualization in human endometrial stromal cells (hESCs). Further analysis revealed that ABHD5 may be a downstream target gene of circFAM120A, and miR-29 interacts with ABHD5 to regulate decidualization.

A new definition of recurrent implantation failure on the basis of anticipated blastocyst aneuploidy rates across female age

Baris Ata et al.

Summary: This study utilized mathematical modeling to explore the impact of female age and anticipated blastocyst euploidy rates on cumulative implantation rates. The results indicate that older patients require more blastocysts to achieve the desired cumulative implantation probability without preimplantation genetic testing. However, assuming an implantation rate of 55% for euploid blastocysts, only 4 blastocysts are needed to reach a cumulative probability rate greater than 95%, regardless of age.

Expression and significance of miR-30d-5p and SOCS1 in patients with recurrent implantation failure during implantation window

Yuhao Zhao et al.

Summary: The study found that the presence of developed pinopodes decreased in patients with recurrent implantation failure on LH + 7, and the expression level of miR-30d-5p decreased while the mRNA and protein levels of SOCS1 were significantly higher in the RIF group. Additionally, a negative correlation was observed between the expression of miR-30d-5p and SOCS1.

Placental trophoblast cell-derived exosomal microRNA-1290 promotes the interaction between endometrium and embryo by targeting LHX6

Shuang Shi et al.

Summary: Exosomes derived from placental trophoblast cells contain miR-1290, which plays a crucial role in regulating inflammatory responses and migration of endometrial epithelial cells, as well as promoting angiogenesis and epithelial-mesenchymal transition. These findings provide new insights into the mechanism of trophoblast cell-derived exosomes during embryo implantation.
