Summary: High phase-purity Sm(Fe0.8Co0.2)(11)Ti and Sm0.8Zr0.2(Fe0.8Co0.2)(11)Ti powders with tetragonal crystal structure were synthesized by reduction-diffusion method. The introduction of Zr resulted in slightly larger particle sizes. Temperature-dependent XRD studies showed decomposition of the ThMn12-type phase around 500 degrees C, posing challenges for developing fully dense bulk magnets. Successful introduction of grain boundary phase was achieved by infiltrating low-melting eutectic alloys, though coercivity remained low.
