Five Decades of Global Chemical Terror Attacks: Data Analysis to Inform Training and Preparedness

Summary: The study found that the number of chemical weapon attacks by global terrorist organizations is increasing year by year, especially in the conflicts in Iraq and Syria. The most commonly used chemical agents in the attacks were chlorine, tear gas, and cyanide, with choking and vesicant agents becoming the predominant chemical terror agents since 2001.
