Dust transport investigation in ribbed cooling duct integrating temperature-dependent elastic-plastic particle collision model

Kuahai Yu et al.

Summary: The transport and accumulation of micron-sized sand particles in the ribbed cooling duct of a turbine blade have been studied in this paper. By establishing a prediction function and using a gas-particle two phases flow method, the effects of various factors on the transport and accumulation are analyzed. The results show that the rib structure significantly affects the flow and transport of sand particles, especially for particles below 10 μm. The accumulation of particles is mainly influenced by turbulent flow dynamics and particle-wall collision, and the number of accumulated particles slightly increases with temperature.
