Effect of interface behaviour on damage and instability of PBX under combined tension-shear loading

Quan-zhi Xia et al.

Summary: This study establishes a numerical model of a PBX three-phase hybrid system and introduces a nonlinear plastic damage cohesion model to investigate the effect of interface behavior on the mechanical properties and damage evolution of PBX under combined tension-shear loading. The parameters in the model were fitted and calibrated, and the effects of interfacial tensile strength and shear strength on the damage process of PBX were studied. Serrated and hemispherical structures of the PBX interface were developed, affecting the damage process and instability during the loading process.

Research on the influences of confining pressure and strain rate on NEPE propellant: Experimental assessment and constitutive model

Hui Li et al.

Summary: The study investigated the influences of confining pressure and strain rate on the mechanical properties of NEPE propellant, revealing a significant impact on its mechanical responses. A nonlinear constitutive model considering confining pressure and strain rate was developed to accurately describe the mechanical behaviors of NEPE propellant.

Three-Dimensional constitutive equations for hyper viscoelastic particulate reinforced composite materials based on damage parameter

M. M. Kantor et al.

Summary: The article focuses on mathematically modeling the behavior of hyper viscoelastic particulate reinforced composite materials, introducing a new constitutive model that considers damage parameters and their evolution, as well as demonstrating physical phenomena such as the dewetting effect. The model accounts for material softening due to dewetting, volumetric strains from hydrostatic pressure, and dilatation from deviatoric stress, showing good correlation with experimental results.

Microstructural simulations of debonding, nucleation, and crack propagation in an HMX-MDB propellant

Yufei Hou et al.

Summary: In this study, the deformation and failure processes of HMX-MDB propellant were investigated experimentally and numerically. Stress-strain responses and viscoelastic parameters were obtained through tests, and the effects of matrix strength and interface strength on mechanical properties were explored. The research established a model to capture damage behavior and different damage patterns of the propellant.
