Antifouling superhydrophobic surfaces with bactericidal and SERS activity

Furkan Sahin et al.

Summary: The multifunctional superhydrophobic surface exhibits unique SERS activity and antimicrobial properties, allowing for liquid repellency, adulterant detection, and reduced bacterial adhesion. Additionally, the surface shows anti-fouling behavior against liquid food and excellent resistance to sticky foods.

Droplet impact dynamics over a range of capillary numbers and surface wettability: Assessment of moving contact line models and energy budget analysis

Nagesh D. Patil et al.

Summary: The bouncing and non-bouncing impact dynamics of a droplet on a solid surface are studied through experimental and numerical methods. Two contact angle models are implemented and compared with experimental results. The effects of liquid surface tension, viscosity, substrate wettability, and impact velocity on droplet dynamics are analyzed through energy budget analysis.

Toward Unveiling the Anomalies Associated with the Spontaneous Spreading of Droplets

Debarshi Debnath et al.

Summary: Drop spreading process is dominated by viscosity in the early stages, while wetting condition does not affect the power-law scaling for the contact radius. Low-viscosity liquids may cause necking and ejection of satellite drops during spreading, while very high-viscosity drops are completely dominated by the viscous regime.

The post-impact dynamics of drop rebound on inclined hydrophobic surfaces of various wettabilities

Yin Guan et al.

Summary: In this study, the post-impact drop motions of the rebound regime on inclined hydrophobic surfaces were investigated using a numerical technique. Various influencing factors were examined and analyzed, with significantly different outcomes observed at different incline angles. The nondimensionalized parameters were found to scale with the normal or tangential Weber numbers according to the power law, with exponents varying with surface wettability and inclined angle.
