Systemic study of selected histone deacetylase inhibitors in cardiac complications associated with cancer cachexia

Vivek Bora et al.

Summary: This study investigated the differential effects of histone deacetylase inhibitors on cardiac complications associated with cancer cachexia. The results showed that entinostat attenuated cardiac complications, while MC1568 exacerbated these complications. The effect of sodium butyrate was inconclusive. This study provides insights for evaluating other HDACi in the management of cardiac complications in cancer cachexia.

Real and Simulated Microgravity: Focus on Mammalian Extracellular Matrix

Elena Andreeva et al.

Summary: The lack of gravitational loading during space flights is a crucial risk factor that leads to bone mass loss, muscle atrophy, and other health issues. Extensive biomedical studies have investigated the acute responses and adaptation mechanisms to microgravity at different levels. Multicellular organisms on Earth have developed a complex mechanosensitive system that includes both cellular and extracellular components. Simulation models on Earth are important tools for studying the mechanisms of response to microgravity due to limitations in space experiments.

Microgravity Effects on the Matrisome

Ludmila Buravkova et al.

Summary: Gravity is a fundamental factor that determines all processes of development and vital activity on Earth. Multicellular organisms have developed complex mechanisms to respond to gravity alterations, with cell cytoskeleton molecules and extracellular matrix components playing key roles in this process. The coordination of intracellular and extracellular compartments is facilitated by specialized protein structures, such as integrins, forming a molecular hub that regulates tissue and organ functions in gravitational environments. The importance of this system is especially evident under extreme conditions like spaceflight microgravity.
