Plastome Characterization, Phylogenetic Relationships, and Regional Conservation Status of Ficus populifolia Vahl. (Moraceae), a Peripherally Isolated Plant Population in the Arabian Peninsula

Samah A. Alharbi et al.

Summary: The entire plastome of Ficus populifolia from the Arabian Peninsula was sequenced and analyzed in this study, providing a baseline genetic resource for future research. The findings show that the plastome of F. populifolia is highly conserved and closely related to the African species F. lyrata. These genomic data serve as valuable resources for further investigations on the population genetics, authentication, and genetic conservation of F. populifolia.
