Effect of fine structure of chitosan-based flocculants on the flocculation of bentonite and humic acid: Evaluation and modeling

Moxi Wang et al.

Summary: The fine molecular structure of a flocculant plays a crucial role in determining its internal flocculation mechanism and final application properties. This study successfully synthesized chitosan-based polymers with different properties and investigated the effects of structural factors on their flocculation performance. The results showed that flocculants with abundant graft chains exhibited better flocculation performance, while the effects of charge density and chain distribution varied depending on the dosage.
