Ni-CaO dual function materials prepared by different synthetic modes for integrated CO2 capture and conversion

Guodong Wang et al.

Summary: The study investigates the synthesis of Ni-CaO dual-functional materials through different methods and finds that certain synthetic modes can result in samples with high CO2 sorption capacity and superior CO productivity. This performance is associated with better textural properties, smaller particle size, and more uniform dispersion of Ni species.

Microtubular Fe/Mn-promoted CaO-Ca12Al14O33 bi-functional material for H2 production from sorption enhanced water gas shift

Chunxiao Zhang et al.

Summary: A hollow microtubular Fe/Mn-promoted CaO-Ca12Al14O33 bi-functional material was prepared and exhibited excellent CO2 capture and H-2 production performance in sorption enhanced water gas shift (SEWGS). The stable hollow microtubular structure improved the available adsorption and catalytic sites, while the addition of Mn enhanced CO2 affinity and Fe-Mn interaction increased redox ability. The formed compounds promoted the catalytic activity and CO2 capture capacity.

Efficient-and-stable CH4 reforming with integrated CO2 capture and utilization using Li4SiO4 sorbent

Zongze Lv et al.

Summary: CO2 capture and utilization (CCU) is seen as a promising approach to reduce carbon emissions in the short to mid-term, but the instability of high-temperature CO2 sorption/desorption limits its potential. Therefore, developing a new sorbent/catalyst system is crucial for ensuring the high efficiency and long-term operation of CCU.

Bifunctional Ni-Ca based material for integrated CO2 capture and conversion via calcium-looping dry reforming

Jiawei Hu et al.

Summary: The research focuses on the development of a bifunctional Ni-Ca based material to enable isothermal capture and release of CO2, as well as in-situ conversion of CH4 into syngas in a single reactor. The addition of CeO2 helps combat inactive carbon accumulation and activate CO2 and CH4, leading to enhanced syngas production during cyclic CaLDRM. The bifunctional material successfully converts over 40% of CH4 and CO2 under thermodynamically unfavorable conditions.

Summary: Gas hydrate technology shows promise for gas mixture separation due to its ability to selectively bind one component into a hydrate state. However, determining the composition of mixed hydrates is challenging, especially with the presence of small molecules like hydrogen. This study experimentally determined the solubility of hydrogen in carbon dioxide hydrate and investigated the equilibrium conditions of hydrates in various systems with different hydrogen concentrations.
