Developing and Validating Nomogram to Predict Severe Postpartum Hemorrhage in Women With Placenta Previa Undergoing Cesarean Delivery: A Multicenter Retrospective Case-Control Study

Xiaohe Dang et al.

Summary: Nomograms were developed to predict severe postpartum hemorrhage (SPPH) in women with placenta previa (PP) undergoing cesarean delivery. The intraoperative nomogram showed better predictive ability compared to the preoperative nomogram. The application of the intraoperative nomogram before operation achieved good prediction effect.

Systematic external evaluation of four preoperative risk prediction models for severe postpartum hemorrhage in patients with placenta previa: A multicenter retrospective study

Xiaohe Dang et al.

Summary: This study aimed to compare and evaluate the validity of existing risk prediction models for severe postpartum hemorrhage (SPPH) in patients with placenta previa. Four models were collected and evaluated using an external cohort of patients. The results showed that the predictive performance of these models was moderate, and the discrimination and benefit indicators were not simultaneously ideal in this population. Further optimization and prospective external validation studies are needed for these prediction models.

Cervical length should be measured for women with placenta previa: cohort study

Ahmed Altraigey et al.

Summary: The study reveals that cervical length is associated with adverse outcomes in pregnancies complicated with placenta previa/accreta. Women with shorter cervical length have higher risks of complications during pregnancy, delivery, and postpartum, indicating the importance of monitoring and intervention in these cases.

Additive interaction of mid- to late-life depression and cerebrovascular disease on the risk of dementia: a nationwide population-based cohort study

Yoo Jin Jang et al.

Summary: In this population-based cohort study, depression and cerebrovascular disease were found to increase the risk of dementia, and their coexistence was shown to additively increase dementia risk more than the sum of the individual risks. The interaction between depression and CVD was statistically significant, indicating a synergistic effect on dementia risk.
