Study on the advantageous effect of nano-clay and polyurethane on structure and CO2 separation performance of polyethersulfone based ternary mixed matrix membranes

MohammadSalehi Maleh et al.

Summary: This study focused on the effect of polyurethane and nano-clay on the structure and CO2 separating properties of polyethersulfone (PES) mixed matrix membranes (MMMs). The results showed that the addition of polyurethane and nano-clay significantly improved the CO2 permeability and selectivity of the PES membranes.

Sorption and permeation study of polyetherimide/hydrophobic silica nanocomposite membrane for effective syngas (H2/CO/CO2) separation

Fatemeh Hamidavi et al.

Summary: The study found that with a low percentage of nanosilica, permeability increased and selectivity decreased. As the nanosilica loading increased, silica particles dispersed more uniformly in the polymer matrix, forming membranes without any defects.

Polyphenylsulfone (PPSU)-Based Copolymeric Membranes: Effects of Chemical Structure and Content on Gas Permeation and Separation

Fan Feng et al.

Summary: This study systematically investigates the relationship between gas permeation behavior and chemical structure in polyphenylsulfone (PPSU) based materials for gas separation. The study found that increasing TMPPSf content can increase permeability, while increasing 1/FFV can decrease permeability. Enhanced permeability in copolymers is attributed to increases in sorption coefficient and gas diffusivity.
