A novel method of multiaxial fatigue life prediction based on deep learning

Jingye Yang et al.

Summary: A novel deep learning-based method is proposed in this study to predict fatigue data of different materials, with excellent prediction accuracy for various loading conditions. The method shows strong capability in handling different loading paths and levels, but its extrapolation capability may weaken with increasing distinctions between training and test datasets in terms of loading paths.

Wideband reflection wavelength tuning by bending of cholesteric liquid crystal elastomer films

Masayuki Kishino et al.

Summary: This study investigates the tuning of reflection wavelength of cholesteric liquid crystal elastomers (CLCEs) using bending, which requires lower load and achieves a wider tuning range compared to traditional stretching. Experimental evidence demonstrates the effectiveness of this wideband reflection wavelength tuning by low-load bending.

Quantitative analysis of bending hysteresis by real-time monitoring of curvature in flexible polymeric films†

Ryo Taguchi et al.

Summary: This study successfully determined the curvatures that cause the bending hysteresis by precisely monitoring bending curvatures, and found that these curvatures depend on film thickness. Furthermore, the occurrence of bending hysteresis can be explained by bending strains with a nonlinear relation with internal stresses.
