Cotton fabrics with antibacterial and antiviral properties produced by a simple pad-dry-cure process using diphenolic acid

Summary: In this study, diphenolic acid (DPA) was used as a finishing reagent to impart antibacterial and antiviral functions to cotton fabric. The DPA molecules were covalently linked onto cotton fiber surfaces through esterification reaction. The DPA modified fabrics showed high bacteriostatic reduction rates (BR) against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus, as well as rapid virus inactivation within 20 minutes. The modification process did not cause significant damage to the cotton fiber structure, and the resulting fabrics were safe for human skin.

Prediction of pyrolyzate yields by response surface methodology: A case study of cellulose and polyethylene co-pyrolysis

Summary: This study demonstrates the potential of response surface methodology (RSM) in predicting pyrolyzate yields affected by synergies during co-pyrolysis of cellulose and polyethylene.
