Recent trend in developing advanced fiber metal laminates reinforced with nanoparticles: A review study

Summary: Fiber metal laminates (FMLs), consisting of metal layers and fiber-reinforced composites, have been widely used in various industries due to their outstanding properties. Nanoparticles have been used to improve the mechanical properties of FMLs and adhesively bonded joints (ABJs) between metal sheets and polymeric composites. However, the effects of parameters on the properties of FMLs and ABJs reinforced with nanoparticles have not been extensively discussed in the literature.

Tensile mechanical behavior and failure mechanisms of fiber metal laminates under various temperature environments

Summary: This paper investigates the tensile behavior and failure mechanisms of fiber metal laminates (FMLs) under different temperatures using experimental, theoretical, and numerical methods. The results show that the tensile strength of FMLs decreases nonlinearly with increasing temperature. These findings are of great significance for the design and utilization of FML structures.

Interlaminar mechanical properties of nano- and short-aramid fiber reinforced glass fiber-aluminum laminates: a comparative study

Summary: The study found that using two fillers at the interface of glass fiber-aluminum laminates can simultaneously improve the Mode-I and Mode-II fracture toughness of the laminates. Due to the better dispersion of nano-aramid fibers in the epoxy matrix, their toughening performance is better than that of short-aramid fibers in this case.
