Effect of recycled powder content on the structure and mechanical properties of Ti-6Al-4V alloy produced by direct energy deposition

Svetlana A. Shalnova et al.

Summary: The study investigates the effects of recycled powder on the morphology and macrostructure of Ti-6Al-4V samples fabricated using DED technique. The microstructure of the annealed samples shows significant changes, while the horizontal and vertical annealed samples exhibit inconspicuous anisotropy of tensile and impact properties.

Direct laser deposition of Cu-Mo functionally graded layers for dissimilar joining titanium alloys and steels

M. O. Gushchina et al.

Summary: Joining titanium alloys and steel presents challenges due to the formation of brittle Ti-Fe intermetallic compounds, but the use of a Cu-Mo interlayer can prevent this and improve the tensile strength of the joints.

Structure and Properties of Ti/Ti64 Graded Material Manufactured by Laser Powder Bed Fusion

Evgenii Borisov et al.

Summary: Multimaterial additive manufacturing combines materials with different properties within a single part to produce components with improved functional properties. The microstructure of Ti/Ti64-graded samples remains stable during heat treatment and hot isostatic pressing. The mechanical properties of Ti/Ti64 samples are influenced more by the ratio of cross-sections than by their shape and location.

Features of Heat Treatment the Ti-6Al-4V GTD Blades Manufactured by DLD Additive Technology

Marina Gushchina et al.

Summary: Additive manufacturing of titanium alloys is a rapidly growing area in 3D metal printing, especially within the aviation industry. Inconsistent thermal history during deposition can result in non-uniform structure and properties, potentially leading to product failure. Heat treatment can be used to achieve uniform performance regardless of initial structure.
