Brevilin A enhances innate immunity and the resistance of oxidative stress in Caenorhabditis elegans via p38 MAPK pathway

Xinting Zhu et al.

Summary: The compound Brevilin A has been found to enhance innate immunity and resistance to pathogens through the p38 MAPK pathway. It also increases resistance to oxidative stress and extends lifespan through the same pathway. These findings suggest that Brevilin A may have potential implications in the treatment of infectious diseases.

SMA-10 Is a Non-Canonical Member of the TGF-β Sma/Mab Pathway and Immunity Regulator via the DAF-2 Insulin Receptor in Caenorhabditis elegans

Maria Pilar de Lucas et al.

Summary: TGF-beta signalling pathways are highly conserved and essential in development and adult tissue maintenance. In the nematode C. elegans, the TGF-beta Sma/Mab pathway regulates various phenotypes, with SMA-10 playing a role in body size, matricide, reproductive span, and immunity. Additionally, SMA-10 is involved in immunity through the Insulin/insulin-like growth factor signalling pathway, independent of TGF-beta Sma/Mab.
