Construction of a pH/Temperature dual-responsive drug delivery platform based on exfoliated MoS2 nanosheets for effective delivery of doxorubicin: Parametric optimization via central composite design

Elham Reza Soltani et al.

Summary: The aim of this study was to develop a drug delivery system for encapsulation and release of doxorubicin using modified exfoliated molybdenum disulfide nanosheets. Glutamine was conjugated to the surface of the nanosheets. Various techniques were used to characterize the nanoadsorbent and optimize important parameters. The nanocarrier exhibited dual-responsive behavior and achieved a high adsorption efficiency and controlled release of the drug.

In situ Assembly of Functionalized Single-Walled Carbon Nanotube with partially reduced Graphene oxide Nanocomposite Membrane for Chiral Separation of β-substituted-α-amino acids

Monti Gogoi et al.

Summary: In this study, a tunable nanocomposite membrane based on rGO-FSWCNT was developed for the chiral separation of molecules. The membrane exhibited excellent separation performance with selective adsorption of the L-isomer and high permeability of the D-isomer. The vertically aligned CNT within graphene planes formed a pillaring structure, providing desirable mechanical properties and efficient transport for chiral molecules. Therefore, this nanocomposite membrane is of great importance for chiral separation processes.

Synthesis of MoS2/Fe3O4/aminosilane/glycidyl methacrylate/melamine dendrimer grafted polystyrene/poly(N-vinylcaprolactam) nanocomposite for adsorption and controlled release of sertraline from aqueous solutions

Elham Hesabi et al.

Summary: The new MoS2/Fe3O4 dendrimer grafted polystyrene/poly(N-vinylcaprolactam) nanocomposite showed high adsorption capacity and optimal release temperature for sertraline removal, following pseudo-second-order kinetic model and Redlich-Peterson isotherm model. The highest sertraline release was achieved at 50 degrees C, with non-Fickian diffusion observed at 37 and 50 degrees C.

Drug Release Kinetics of DOX-Loaded Graphene-Based Nanocarriers for Ovarian and Breast Cancer Therapeutics

Katherine Taylor et al.

Summary: This study identified seventeen publications on the release of doxorubicin from 2D graphene-based nanohybrids for breast and ovarian cancer treatment, analyzing pre-clinical experimental protocols and release kinetics. The majority of the data best fit the Weibull kinetic model, providing a predictable estimation of DOX release from graphene-based nanocarriers. This research demonstrates the potential conjugation of graphene and DOX in drug delivery applications.
