Sparse representations of random signals

Tao Qian

Summary: The study extends AFD and POAFD methods to random analytic signals, proposing stochastic AFD (SAFD) models, divided into SAFDI and SAFDII. Later, SAFDI and SAFDII are generalized to stochastic Hilbert spaces, named stochastic POAFDs (SPOAFDI and SPOAFDII), which provide powerful tools for approximating and analyzing random signals like AFDs and POAFDs for deterministic signals.

Transferring Subject-Specific Knowledge Across Stimulus Frequencies in SSVEP-Based BCIs

Chi Man Wong et al.

Summary: This study investigates the feasibility of transferring model parameters in SSVEP-based BCIs across different groups of visual stimuli. Experiment results show that spatial filters share commonality across different frequencies and impulse responses share commonality across neighboring frequencies. The tlCCA algorithm performs significantly better than calibration-free algorithms and comparably to calibration-based algorithms in recognition performance.

Cross-Target Transfer Algorithm Based on the Volterra Model of SSVEP-BCI

Jiajun Lin et al.

Summary: This study introduced a SSVEP nonlinear signal model based on the Volterra filter and a transfer-extended Canonical Correlation Analysis (t-eCCA) method, which enabled cross-target transfer through transfer learning, effectively reducing the training cost of SSVEP-BCI. The results showed that t-eCCA achieved comparable accuracy to representative training classification algorithms with only half of the calibration time, demonstrating potential for practical application in SSVEP-BCI systems.
