Sufficient Conditions for Global Integral Action via Incremental Forwarding for Input-Affine Nonlinear Systems

Mattia Giaccagli et al.

Summary: In this article, the problem of constant output regulation for a class of input-affine multi-input multi-output nonlinear systems is studied. The authors propose a control method based on the contraction framework to solve this problem. By extending the system with an integral action processing the regulation error, a state-feedback control law is designed to make the resulting closed-loop system incrementally stable. Sufficient conditions for the design of a pure integral-feedback control are also provided, and specialized control methods for specific system types are proposed.

Analysis and Synthesis of Low-Gain Integral Controllers for Nonlinear Systems

John W. Simpson-Porco

Summary: In this article, the stability conditions of a feedback system consisting of an exponentially stable multi-input multi-output nonlinear system and an integral controller are discussed. The main result shows that if the composition of the system's equilibrium input-output map and integral feedback gain is infinitesimally contracting, then the closed-loop system is exponentially stable when the integral gain is sufficiently low.

Contraction theory for nonlinear stability analysis and learning-based control: A tutorial overview

Hiroyasu Tsukamoto et al.

Summary: Contraction theory is an analytical tool for studying the stability of nonlinear systems, focusing on finding a suitable contraction metric to satisfy stability conditions and provide safety and stability guarantees for neural network-based control and estimation schemes. By constructing a contraction metric through convex optimization, an explicit exponential bound on the distance between target and solution trajectories can be obtained.

Sufficient metric conditions for synchronization of leader-connected homogeneous nonlinear multi-agent systems

Mattia Giaccagli et al.

Summary: This paper addresses the exponential synchronization problem of a leader-connected network of identical nonlinear systems and proposes two solutions. By designing a distributed diffusive coupling feedback, the systems can achieve convergence and solve the problem in two different frameworks.
