Ultrabroadband Metamaterial Absorber Based on Effectively Coupled Multilayer HIS Loaded Structure With Dallenbach Layer

Dongmeng Li et al.

Summary: In this study, an ultrawideband metamaterial absorber was demonstrated in the radar frequency range, featuring thin thickness and outstanding broadband absorption performance. Efforts were made to analyze the impedance of the multilayer high-impedance surface loaded electromagnetic absorber, with numerical simulations showing agreement with theoretical analysis. The absorption mechanism was investigated through analysis of electric and magnetic field distributions and the standing wave effect on the resistive film surface.

Metagrating absorber: design and implementation

Fabrice Boust et al.

Summary: This study investigates the improvement in absorption performances brought about by the introduction of subwavelength spatial modulation of electromagnetic properties. A new type of absorber, replacing the uniform resistive layer with a metagrating, is proposed. Experimental tests conducted in the microwave domain around 10 GHz demonstrate the potential of metagratings for enhancing absorption performance.

Parallel-Orientation-Induced Strong Resonances Enable Ni Submicron-Wire Array: an Ultrathin and Ultralight Electromagnetic Wave Absorbing Material

Yajie Liu et al.

Summary: This paper introduces a novel ultralight and ultrathin EMW absorber based on a parallel Ni wire array, and proposes an orientation-enhanced strategy to improve absorption performance. The study found that the parallel orientation of wires can enhance interfacial polarization, improve dielectric and magnetic losses, and enhance impedance matching. The parallel Ni wire array exhibits excellent EMW absorption and achieves the largest specific reflection loss among magnetic wire-based absorbers.

Analysis and Design of General Printed Circuit Board Metagratings With an Equivalent Circuit Model Approach

Gengyu Xu et al.

Summary: An accurate equivalent circuit model (ECM) for general multiwire multiorder printed circuit board (PCB) metagratings (MGs) is developed, with effective impedances of grating wires modeled as lumped loads. Numerous propagating Floquet harmonics are modeled as circuit ports, and a set of required scattering parameters for the ECM is derived based on desired field transformation for the MG. Optimizing equivalent lumped loads allows encoding multiple functions into a single device, enabling the design and investigation of angle-multiplexed multifunctional MGs.
