A Flexible Reference-Insensitive Spatiotemporal Fusion Model for Remote Sensing Images Using Conditional Generative Adversarial Network

Zhenyu Tan et al.

Summary: This article introduces a flexible deep network called GAN-based SpatioTemporal Fusion Model (GAN-STFM) into the spatiotemporal fusion problem. Compared to traditional models, GAN-STFM only requires two images as inputs and has no time restriction on reference image selection. In experiments, GAN-STFM performs on par or better than other classical fusion models. This improvement makes data preparation for spatiotemporal fusion much easier, showing promising perspectives for practical applications.

MSFusion: Multistage for Remote Sensing Image Spatiotemporal Fusion Based on Texture Transformer and Convolutional Neural Network

Guangqi Yang et al.

Summary: Due to limitations of current technology, a single satellite sensor cannot capture high spatiotemporal resolution remote sensing images. To address this, a multistage remote sensing image spatio-temporal fusion model based on texture transformer and convolutional neural network is proposed, which can fuse features of different scales and achieve excellent results.

Remote sensing image gap filling based on spatial-spectral random forests

Qunming Wang et al.

Summary: The proposed spatial-spectral random forest (SSRF) method effectively removes thick clouds and fills missing data in remote sensing images. By utilizing both spatially adjacent and multispectral information of known images, SSRF accurately predicts the changes between known and cloudy images. Experimental results demonstrate the satisfactory performance of SSRF in urban and agricultural areas, outperforming other benchmark methods.

CycleGAN-STF: Spatiotemporal Fusion via CycleGAN-Based Image Generation

Jia Chen et al.

Summary: The article introduces an algorithm that uses cycle-generative adversarial networks to improve spatiotemporal image-fusion, generating images by simulating the change process between two HSLT images and enhancing them with the help of HTLS images. The generated images with spatial information are then introduced into the Flexible Spatiotemporal DAta Fusion framework. Extensive experiments show that this method outperforms current state-of-the-art spatiotemporal image-fusion methods.
