The effect of silica nanoparticles on polysulfone-polyethylene glycol (PSF/PEG) composite membrane on gas separation and rheological properties of nanocomposites

Iman Salahshoori et al.

Summary: This study investigated the polysulfone-polyethylene glycol/silica nanocomposite membranes for gas separation, finding that the membrane with 20% silica had the best separation properties, with a CO2 permeability of 13.36 Barrer and an ideal selectivity of 45.76 for CO2/N2 gases. Various analyses were used to examine the membrane structure and morphology, and mechanical rheometry was employed to study the rheological properties of the hybrid nanosized composites.
