Degree-Depth Relation for Planetary Gravity Field Model Based or Wavelength

Qingyun Deng et al.

Summary: In this paper, the authors investigate the relation between the spherical harmonic degree of gravity field model and the corresponding depth of the source body. They introduce a threshold to define the gravity anomaly wavelength of an isolated mass body and establish a relationship between the maximum wavelength and effective resolvable depth. This degree-depth relation was validated using lunar gravity field data, providing insights for planetary gravity field analysis.
