Effect of soil saturation on load transfer in a pile excited by pure vertical vibration

Mohammed Y. Fattah et al.

Summary: This study experimentally compared the resistance capacity of a single pile excited by two opposite rotary machines in dry and saturated sandy soil. The results showed that the pile tip load decreased in dry soil during machine operation, while it increased in saturated soil due to water acting as a lubricant.

Vertical and horizontal displacement of model piles in dry soil with horizontal excitation

Mohammed Y. Fattah et al.

Summary: The laboratory tests showed that an increase in shaking frequency led to a reduction in the oscillation of wave propagation values recorded due to densification of the soil during shaking. The spacing between piles was found to be a key parameter affecting the time-frequency characteristics of displacement at the pile top.

INVESTIGATION OF THE END BEARING LOAD IN PILE GROUP MODEL IN DRY SOIL UNDER HORIZONTAL EXCITATION

Mohammed Y. Fattah et al.

Summary: The study conducted a series of 94 laboratory tests to measure the response of pile foundation to dynamic loads. The results showed that acceleration amplitudes increase with frequency for both loose and medium relative densities of soil, as well as different pile patterns and spacing ratios. It was observed that the maximum acceleration in the foundation is lower than in the soil bed, indicating a damping effect or attenuation of vibration waves.
