The chromosome-level reference genome assembly for Dendrobium officinale and its utility of functional genomics research and molecular breeding study

Zhitao Niu et al.

Summary: This study reported the first chromosome-level reference genome of Dendrobium officinale and explored the expanded gene families and biosynthesis of secondary metabolites. Candidate genes involved in the biosynthesis of active ingredients were identified, and the MWL1 gene may contribute to plant production. The high-quality reference genome will benefit functional genomics research and molecular breeding of D. officinale.
