Responses in knee joint muscle activation patterns to different perturbations during gait in healthy subjects

Summary: The study found that healthy participants make slight adjustments in their knee joint muscle activation patterns when faced with different perturbations. Higher perturbation intensities led to higher mean activation and PR values in five muscles, while different types of perturbations also led to different responses in the rectus femoris, medial gastrocnemius, and lateral gastrocnemius. It is notable that participants had lower CCI just before the perturbation compared to the same phase of unperturbed gait.
