Insight into the promoting effect of support pretreatment with sulfate acid on selective catalytic reduction performance of CeO2/ZrO2 catalysts

Zhitao Han et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the promoting effects of support sulfation on the selective catalytic reduction (SCR) performance of CeO2/ZrO2 catalysts. It is found that sulfated ZrO2 can significantly enhance the SCR activity and low-temperature activity of the catalyst, promote the transformation of CeO2 and NH3 adsorption, and is related to factors such as redox property and chemisorbed labile oxygen.

Time-resolved in situ DRIFTS study on NH3-SCR of NO on a CeO2/TiO2 catalyst

Jie Yang et al.

Summary: CeO2/TiO2 catalyst was studied using in situ diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier transform spectroscopy, and it was found that CeO2 particles grew along TiO2 faces and amorphous cerium in the lattice of TiO2. NH4+ could adsorb on the Ti-O-Ce structures or TiO2-CeO2 interface as Bronsted acid sites, and NH4NO3 intermediate dominated the SCR reactions.

Summary: The Mn-Ce/zeolite catalysts were synthesized to study their NH3-SCR performance at low temperatures. The Mn-Ce/X catalyst showed the highest NO conversion and SO2 resistance, while Mn-Ce/ZSM-5 and Mn-Ce/Beta catalysts had high NO conversion at higher temperatures. Furthermore, Mn-Ce/X catalyst had better acid sites and stability, promoting NH3-SCR activity.

Effects of PbO poisoning on Ce-Mn/AC catalyst for low-temperature selective catalytic reduction of NO with NH3

Zeng-hui Su et al.

Summary: The study revealed that doping lead oxide significantly reduces the selective catalytic reduction activity of Ce-Mn/AC catalysts, leading to a decrease in NO conversion. The main reason for this is that the doping of lead oxide reduces the total pore volume and oxygen functional groups of activated carbon.

Wood-inspired high-performing hierarchical porous Ce0.7Zr0.3O2 catalyst for low-temperature selective catalytic reduction of NOx by NH3

Xing Gao et al.

Summary: A novel Ce0.7Zr0.3O2 catalyst with hierarchical porous structure, W-CeZr, was fabricated using a wood template method and utilized for selective catalytic reduction of NO with NH3 for the first time. W-CeZr catalyst exhibited much greater low-temperature activity compared to conventional Ce0.7Zr0.3O2 catalyst (C-CeZr), attributed to increased surface area, enrichment of Ce3+, and enrichment of surface-active oxygen species.

Insight into the activity and SO2 tolerance of hierarchically ordered MnFe1-δCoδOx ternary oxides for low-temperature selective catalytic reduction of NOx with NH3

Yonglong Li et al.

Summary: In this study, Co-doped MnFeOx ternary mixed oxides with hierarchically ordered structure exhibited enhanced low-temperature activity, broadened temperature window, improved water resistance, and enhanced SO2 and soot tolerance for NH3-SCR of NOx. The enhanced performance was attributed to the presence of active oxygen species, higher content of Mn4+, Fe3+, and Co3+, and improved surface acidity, which facilitated the adsorption and activation of NO and NH3, making it a promising candidate for low-temperature deNOx application.

The enhanced Pb resistance of CeO2/TiO2 catalyst for selective catalytic reduction of NO with NH3 by the modification with W

Ye Jiang et al.

Summary: The modification of CeO2/TiO2 catalysts by W was found to enhance their resistance to Pb poisoning, promoting the transformation of Ce4+ to Ce3+ on the surface. This led to an increase in Bronsted acid sites for NH3 adsorption, facilitating NH3-SCR reactions. Additionally, the oxidation of NO to NO2 was enhanced, and both E-R and L-H mechanisms were suitable for the NH3-SCR reaction over the modified catalysts.
