Enhanced flotation mechanism of coal gasification fine slag with composite collectors

Zhonghua Xue et al.

Summary: This study investigated the flotation separation of residual charcoal and ash materials in fine coal gasification slags using different composite collectors. The experimental results showed that the composite collectors containing AC1201 and kerosene were effective in separating charcoal-ash. The study also evaluated the flotation products using infrared spectrum analysis, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) analysis, and scanning electron microscope energy spectrometer (SEM-EDS) to characterize the compositions and elemental distributions.

Effect of phosphorus-based additives on ash fusion characteristics of high-sodium coal under gasification condition

Xianxian Zhang et al.

Summary: This study investigates the ash fusion characteristics and melting mechanism of high-sodium coals with the addition of phosphorus-based additives under gasification conditions. It is found that the phosphorus-based additives react with the high-sodium coal ash to generate high melting point phosphates, which enhance the ash fusion temperatures. However, the formation of low-temperature eutectic silicates accelerates the melting process, weakening the effect of the phosphorus-based additives on the ash fusion temperatures of high-sodium coals. This research provides important insights into the melting behavior of high-sodium coal ash in gasification environments.

Study on the preparation of coal wastewater slurry from salt/alkali wastewater

Lin Li et al.

Summary: The presence of NaCl affects the viscosity of coal wastewater slurry, while the presence of CO32 hinders the adsorption of sodium lignosulfonate. HCO3 reduces the negative charge on coal particles, decreasing the apparent viscosity.

Study of sodium lignosulfonate prepare low-rank coal-water slurry: Experiments and simulations

Lin Li et al.

Summary: The study investigated the impact of sodium lignosulfonate (SL) as an additive on the preparation of low-rank coal-water slurry (LCWS) through experiments and molecular dynamics (MD) simulations. Results showed that SL effectively reduced viscosity and increased slurry concentration, with SL molecules binding to coal via single-layer adsorption and electrostatic interactions. Both simulation and experimental data confirmed the accuracy and feasibility of MD simulations.

Potential of decarbonized coal gasification residues as the mineral admixture of cement-based material

Feng Luo et al.

Summary: This study explored the feasibility of decarbonized coal gasification waste residues as an admixture for cement-based materials. It found that CGA had a negative impact on the fluidity of cement mortar, while CGS was beneficial for fluidity, and CGA exhibited better pozzolanic reactivity than CGS. The addition of CGA and CGS significantly reduced the content of calcium hydroxide in the cement hydration products.

Effect of the benzene ring of the dispersant on the rheological characteristics of coal-water slurry: Experiments and theoretical calculations

Lin Li et al.

Summary: In this study, low-rank coal-water slurry (LCWS) was prepared using PDPE and PLE as dispersants. The results showed that PDPE exhibited better pulping performance than PLE, with its benzene ring facilitating adsorption on coal through pi-pi stacking effect. Simulation results indicated that PDPE adsorbed on coal more easily and had a more stable binding compared to PLE.

Investigation on co-combustion of coal gasification fine slag residual carbon and sawdust char blends: Physiochemical properties, combustion characteristic and kinetic behavior

Yang Guo et al.

Summary: This study systematically investigates the properties and behaviors of sawdust char and residual carbon in co-combustion, showing that the addition of sawdust char can significantly enhance the combustion performance of residual carbon. Synergistic effects between sawdust char and residual carbon are observed, with first-order chemical reaction and diffusion-controlled reaction identified as the most effective mechanisms in the co-combustion process. Recommendations include maintaining sawdust char at 40 wt% in blends for optimal combustion efficiency and synergistic effects.
