Novel Mn-Ce bi-oxides loaded on 3D monolithic nickel foam for low-temperature NH3-SCR de-NOx: Preparation optimization and reaction mechanism

Shuquan Ni et al.

Summary: This study synthesized Mn-Ce bi-oxides catalysts using the superior citrate method for the selective catalytic reduction of NO by NH3. The presence of surface-active oxygen and oxidized Mn4+ species promotes Fast-SCR reactions, while unsaturated Ni atoms and Ce3+ species improve the redox performance. The coexistence mechanisms of Fast-SCR reactions and E-R pathways were observed, possibly due to the presence of Bronsted sites at low temperature.

Selective catalytic reduction of NO with C3H6 over CuFe-containing catalysts derived from layered double hydroxides

Nini Wen et al.

Summary: In this study, CuxFey-600c catalysts derived from CuxFey-LDHs precursor were investigated for C3H6-SCR under excess oxygen conditions. It was found that the synergistic effect between Cu and Fe in the catalysts led to superior performance compared to single metal catalysts. The strongest synergistic effect was observed in Cu0.71Fe0.29-600c catalyst, which exhibited the highest NO conversion at 300 degrees C.

Insight into the activity and SO2 tolerance of hierarchically ordered MnFe1-δCoδOx ternary oxides for low-temperature selective catalytic reduction of NOx with NH3

Yonglong Li et al.

Summary: In this study, Co-doped MnFeOx ternary mixed oxides with hierarchically ordered structure exhibited enhanced low-temperature activity, broadened temperature window, improved water resistance, and enhanced SO2 and soot tolerance for NH3-SCR of NOx. The enhanced performance was attributed to the presence of active oxygen species, higher content of Mn4+, Fe3+, and Co3+, and improved surface acidity, which facilitated the adsorption and activation of NO and NH3, making it a promising candidate for low-temperature deNOx application.

Superior Oxidative Dehydrogenation Performance toward NH3 Determines the Excellent Low-Temperature NH3-SCR Activity of Mn-Based Catalysts

Guangzhi He et al.

Summary: This study investigates the atomic-level mechanism and activity-limiting factor in NH3-SCR process over Mn-based oxide catalysts. It reveals that the superior oxidative dehydrogenation performance of Mn-based catalysts towards NH3 reduces energy barriers for NH3 activation, facilitating the formation of key intermediate NH2NO. These findings advance the understanding of Mn-based SCR catalysts and provide a fundamental basis for future generation SCR catalysts with excellent low-temperature activity.
