Evaluation of total, sn-2 fatty acid, and triacylglycerol composition in commercial infant formulas on the Chinese market: A comparative study of preterm and term formulas

Jiahui Yu et al.

Summary: This study compared the lipid composition of 14 preterm formulas and 25 term formulas in the Chinese market and found that preterm formulas had higher medium-chain fatty acid content and comparable DHA content to term formulas. The preterm formulas also had significantly lower levels of C16:0 and C18:0 at the sn-2 position.

Application of an innovative metabolomics approach to discriminate geographical origin and processing of black pepper by untargeted UHPLC-Q-Orbitrap-HRMS analysis and mid-level data fusion

Araceli Rivera-Perez et al.

Summary: An untargeted metabolomics approach using UHPLC-HRMS technology was applied to study metabolic differences of black pepper from different geographical origins and processing methods. PCA and OPLSDA were utilized for sample clustering and discrimination, with 8 potential differential metabolites identified. The NMR-UHPLC-GC mid-level fused model showed excellent performance in geographical and processing discrimination.
