A latent class analysis to identify socio-economic and health risk profiles among mothers of young children predicting longitudinal risk of food insecurity

Summary: This study used a SDOH framework and LCA to identify risk classes among mothers with young children and used these classes to predict food insecurity severity and stability/change. The results revealed five risk classes and their associations with the severity and stability/change of food insecurity.

It found that parental stress partially mediated the association between socioeconomic characteristics and depressive symptoms, and network diversity moderated the relationship between parental stress and depressive symptoms.
