Rh(III)-Catalyzed Selective Olefination of N-Carboxamide Indoles with Unactivated Olefins at Room Temperature via an Internal Oxidation

Priyambada Prusty et al.

Summary: A mild, convenient, and effective Rh(III)-catalyzed site-selective C2-alkenylation of N-carboxamide indoles with unactivated alkenes at room temperature has been described. The reaction was successfully demonstrated with a variety of indole N-carboxamides and unfunctionalized/functionalized unactivated alkenes, and a possible reaction mechanism involving C-H activation/insertion/internal oxidation followed by protonation has been proposed and supported by deuterium-labeling studies.

Transition-Metal-Catalyzed, Chelation-Assisted C-H Alkenylation and Allylation of Organic Molecules with Unactivated Alkenes

Ravichandran Logeswaran et al.

Summary: Olefins are important building blocks in synthetic organic chemistry and their functionalization has become a powerful method for constructing complex organic molecules. Despite some limitations, significant progress has been made in chelation-assisted C-H olefination reactions in recent years. This review describes the recent advances in these reactions, including the use of transition metals and base-assisted deprotonation pathways for the alkenylation and allylation of unactivated olefins.

Aerobic Oxidative C-H Olefination of Arylamides with Unactivated Olefins via a Rh(III)-Catalyzed C-H Activation

Subramanian Jambu et al.

Summary: An efficient Rh(III)-catalyzed aerobic oxidative C-H alkenylation of arylamides with unactivated alkenes is described in this study. The reaction is compatible with various substituted arylamides and unactivated olefins, and can also synthesize ortho mono/bisalkylated arylamides under specific conditions. The proposed reaction mechanism involves CH activation/insertion/beta-hydride elimination followed by aerobic oxidation, supported by deuterium labeling studies.

Recent development in transition metal-catalysed C-H olefination

Wajid Ali et al.

Summary: Transition metal-catalyzed functionalizations of inert C-H bonds to construct C-C bonds are an ideal route for synthesizing valuable organic molecules. Fine tuning of directing groups, catalysts, and ligands plays a crucial role in selective C-H bond activation. Recent developments in this area have ensured a high level of regioselectivity in C-H olefination reactions.
