Inter- and Intrasexual Variation in Cuticular Hydrocarbons in Trichrysis cyanea (Linnaeus, 1758) (Hymenoptera: Chrysididae)

David Froehlich et al.

Summary: The variability of cuticular hydrocarbon profiles in cuckoo-wasp species is still unknown. In this study, we analyzed the chemical composition of cuticular hydrocarbons in Trichrysis cyanea and found sex-related differences and chemical polymorphism among females. However, the function of this intrasexual variation in CHC profiles remains unclear.
